October 11, 2008

Jill, Jeena, Tara, Kirk, Lauren, Carla and John ran the monument. It is always a beautiful run. Others ran in Fruita.

A group ran Megan's Loop in Fruita. Some others ran up the monument and back down. It was a very nice day. The monument group left at "Dark O 30" and got to see a beautiful sunrise as I am sure the Megan's group witnessed as well. The Lynns and Barneys would of loved it.......

The Monument group met at the west entrance... some people were at the ranger station while others where out by hyway 340, Sorry about that. The miscommunication had us starting about 25 minutes late. Some ran a couple miles up and back, others to the visitors center and others a couple miles further up and back.

Tara had to get back by 9:00 to get the newspaper.... Kirk was a new comer and ran up the monumnet like a pro. We all wished we had bikes going back down... and it was nice to run with Tara again. Lauren was home for the weekend, so she ran with us. It seems we are not really ready for the Rim Rock..

Some more pictures from the run-Running up the Monument. We are so fast the picture is blurry.

Sept 13, 2008

John, Preston, Stephen, Carla, Andrea, Michelle, Kristen, Tracey, Frank (Bono), Brenda (becomming a regular), Jeena, Darcy, Kendra, Betsy, Jill

It was a beautiful run. We had all kinds of people running around-15. As a few, Preston, Stephen, Michelle and Andrea (Do it) are getting ready for the ST. George Marathon, they ran the farthest... Michelle 20.8 miles (not giving you the 21, you did not run it all) Some only ran a couple, as they have been biking rather than running. Distances ran were a couple miles, a few more, more than a few, almost crazy and final just plain crazy miles.

Some started at the West monument entrace and ran to the kohls, then ran to the east entrace of the monument then back to the Kohls. Some started at the Kohls and others at the started at the east entrace.... There was water and gatorade here and there so we did not get thirsty.

We had a few new FRunners -Preston, Darcy and Kendra. Once you run with us you are officially a member (Dues are collected monthly by our Security Officer, Doug-He will visit your house) It was also good to have Frank and Tracey come out of retirement to run with us.
Herd on the run
Kendra was geeting running clothing advice from everyone... Seems you can not just run with a shirt and a pair of shorts anymore....
Betsy ran with enough equipment to survive a week without going home.
Preston had not run with anyone before...

As it was Rock Jam, we decided to do a yearly Rock Jam run.... Next year there will be t-shirts. It was nice to run with Stephanie on Saturday as she has been runnig with the Fruita group during the week.

Andrea, Michelle, Stephen, Carla and John.

Andrea, Michelle and Stephen ran 20 miles as they prepare for a marathon. They started at the monument west entrance, ran to the Kohls. They had a drink, then with John and Carla headed back to the monument entrance. From there, all ran down to Michelle's house. John and Carla went to John's parents house and had some Orange juice and some snacks. The rest of the group had to run another eight miles. That marathon training is a killer.

August 23, 2008

Michelle, Carla, John and Stephen

Many FRunners are running, but with vacations... and schools started we have not been running together. John, Carla, Michelle and Stephen got together and ran about 12 miles. Michelle, "a little bit more" (as Stephen calls her) or "Just right" as Michelle calls herself ran extra at the end to ensure she had exactley 12 miles. As a note, Kenny has a knee problem and will be out for a while.

We started at Riggs Hill down by the East Monument Entrance to the river trail and back up the parkway hill... "Just right" had to run a few more tenths... Stephen picked her up on the road.

A picture from another run in August... I am sure it was fun...

August 2, 2008

Michelle, Jill, Carla, Jeena, Andrea, Brenda, Kristin, Laura, Tarra and Diane and John

Most of the group ran the river trail with some running a bit more than they thought... and some getting lost running an extra hill. It was all good fun. There were men lacking from the run. Kenny, Stephen, Doug, Brad, Frank, Greg, Brian, Don, Andrew, Tyler, Duane... anyone..., only John showed up.

It was nice to see Brenda, who is a FRunner, but is in some form of denial. We had two new Frunners, Tara and Diane. (The web master can not spell names or other things) They are of course now part of the group, and expected every Saturday. We need to get new shirts for the group.. Betsy.....

The run started for some, at the Kohls house. Michelle and Andrea started there and ran to the river trail, Carla said 4 miles. Seems it was more like 6+. Carla, Brenda, John, Kristin, Jill and Jeena met Michelle and Andrea at the river trail. We ran together to Albertsons and had a drink. Laura, Tarra and Diane met us there. We were a little late as we had to wait a few extra minutes of the Andrea and Michelle to run there extra 2 miles... Carla said she was sorry.

Kristin and Andrea went ahead of the group and ran up the first hill instead of the second. They realized thier mistake and ran back down, adding a mile or so to their run. It was enough for the rest of us to get ahead of them... Jill felt a bit ill but ran well. The new people did just great.
